Director Jim Gillespie‘s upcoming Action, Thriller “Billionaire Ransom” attained a U.S. and Canadian distribution. Gravitas Ventures secured the deal from Radiant Films International. The contract centers on North American as well as Latin American markets. Alexander Ignon penned the script to this upcoming film.

The synopsis to “Billionaire Ransom” reads as follows:

After a car accident that is the last straw for both their families, Kyle (Sumpter) and Amy (Tonkin) find themselves grouped with other spoiled, out-of-control sons and daughters of international billionaires sent by their frustrated parents to a tough-love wilderness school on a remote island off the coast of Scotland. This is a last opportunity for the over-privileged young adults to grow up, abandon their reckless ways and take responsibility for their own lives — or risk being disinherited. Suddenly, a group of mercenaries invade the island, kill the teachers and guards, and hold the privileged lot hostage for the largest ransom in history, a BILLION DOLLARS. When they learn they are to be killed even if the ransom is paid, their wilderness survival training is their only hope of outwitting the mercenaries and staying alive.

Based on the synopsis, “Billionaire Ransom” offers elements of a Survival Horror concept. A group of untrained youngsters must do whatever possible within a cat and mouse game of survival. It will be interesting to see another interpretation to this thrilling concept. “Billionaire Ransom” stars Jeremy Sumpter, Sebastian Koch, Phoebe Tonkin, Dominic Sherwood, and Ed Westwick

At press time, a movie poster and trailer were not provided. “Billionaire Ransom” has a scheduled limited release in cinemas. The film will also be available via video on demand. Both distribution platforms will occur on the 19th of August 2016 in the U.S. and Canada.
